Just once I would like the government to be competent when deciding how to spend our money, or at least honest: “Navy’s new landing ship could cost billions more than planned: CBO.”  I’m all for building our fleet up, it was a huge mistake to reduce it in the first place.  My beef is with those who figure out the costs, I would expect they could do better than being about 138% off.

When the truth hurts: “UC Berkeley condemns professor’s dating advice to student: ‘hurtful and threatening.’”  The advice that is so offensive?  Date women outside the Bay area where “You’ll be shocked by the stark differences in behavior of women in places where women are plentiful versus their behavior within artillery distance of San Jose and San Francisco.”  Until recently the good professor’s personal department web page stated he identified as a “Smith & Wesson 460XVR .45 caliber revolver” and his pronouns were “death/deathem/deathself.”  I guess there is hope for Berkeley after all.

If Berkeley flipping out over dating advice is not enough, FSU gives you the latest in art lessons:  “Pro-abortion group hosts ‘Paint Your Orgasm’ event at Florida State.”

 

No, I’m not kidding: Sen. Klobuchar, (D-MN) “Warns Trump Might Appoint Judges That Will Follow The Constitution”  Not wanting judges to follow the Constitution is a strange way to save democracy…

Who could have seen this coming?  “America’s Bonds Are Getting Harder to Sell.”  I mean we’re only tad over $34 trillion in debt…

 

Who would’ve thought that Mississippi would become a leading champion of civil rights?  “Mississippi House and Senate pass ‘Women’s Bill of Rights’”

 

Don’t get your hopes up, but “Supreme Court Will Hear Arguments on Tuesday That Could Overturn Convictions of Hundreds of J6 Rioters.”  This is a case of statutory interpretation and I seldom try to guess how these cases will turn out.  I do believe this case will largely turn on what the word “otherwise” means in the context of the statute.

If professors are so smart, why do they do such stupid things like hold kangaroo courts?  “A male student who received oral sex from a female friend while he was blacked out was expelled from Amherst College two years later when the woman accused him of sexually assaulting her.”  The male student is now suing Amherst.

 

I do not see how this is going to work, nor do I understand why anyone thought it was a good idea.  U.S. 2024 Olympic uniforms. 

Importing crime by defunding the police: “Denver To Defund Police To The Tune Of $8.4 Million In Order To Pay For Illegal Aliens.”  To be fair, the mayor of Denver is planning on spending $89.9 million to provide services to illegal migrants.  The stupid runs deep in Denver.

Where has all the free speech gone?  “Nearly 5,000 want Kyle Rittenhouse event at Kent State canceled; university backs free speech.”  I remember debating students who were members of the young communists when I was a student at the University of Cincinnati.  They supported the takeover of our embassy in Tehran, and I opposed it.  We held that debate in a room with hundreds of students in the audience and though at least 90% of Cinci students strongly condemned both the communists and their position, not one of us would have even thought of demanding their speech be censored.  What has happened to our universities?

Leave it to Gen Z to kill Coachella: “Once the hottest ticket in town, how Coachella is being shunned by music lovers after becoming overrun by influencers flown out by brands to take selfies in the desert (but most of them don’t even go to the festival!)”

All I can say is thank God Woodstock was before the internet.

 

Oh my, “Study finds plant-based meat products are full of salt and fat.”  I may not eat the heathiest foods, but they are evidently healthier than the foods vegans eat…and taste better.

 

It’s about time.  “House Republicans will send Alejandro Mayorkas impeachment articles to the Senate on TUESDAY.”

We need to expel all the terrorist agitators who aren’t U.S. citizens.

 

Heh, men who identify as women have no physical advantage over women.  O.K. that is an untruth: “Trans Runner Obliterates Competition in Oregon Race to Nobody’s Shock.”  Aside from being unfair and in many sports, dangerous, how can any male take pride in invading women’s sports because he is not competitive in men’s sports?

 

I think this understates inflation.  “Bidenflation Soars To 18.8%, Squeezing Americans.”

 

This is not a man, a disturbed child in an adult male body, but not a man. “Man arrested for allegedly punching 9-year-old girl in the face at Grand Central Terminal.”  This seems to happen a lot in NYC.

 

From the Jerusalem Post “Washington had conveyed to Tehran via Ankara that any action it took had to be ‘within certain limits.”  I’m skeptical about this allegation – it is based on a single unidentified “Turkish diplomatic source.”  However, it needs to be investigated and if true heads need to roll.
