The Divider in Chief

19 years ago, Barack Obama was the Democrats’ new shining star. He traveled the country, burnishing his reputation as a serious contender for his party’s nomination for president of the United States. His trump card was his ability to deliver a speech that, even if it was all bullshit, people would believe him.

One of Barack’s stops was a Black church in Alabama, where he code-switched into a southern preacher and sermonized, adding that his white mom and black father copulated to make him. He said:

“They looked at each other and they decided, ‘We know that in the world, as it has been, it might not be possible for us to get together and have a child, but something is stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Ala., because some folks are willing to march across the bridge.’ And so they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born. So don’t tell me I don’t have a claim on Selma, Alabama!”

Unless his mom and the man who abandoned her were time travelers, his story is, like much of his gravitas, a lot of smoke and myth. Barack Jr wasn’t conceived “because of a 1964 civil rights march” in Selma. Barack Jr was conceived in 1960 and born in 1961.

Obama has dodged this blatant lie by claiming he ‘meant’ to credit the entire civil rights movement. But that isn’t what he said. If you’ve ever watched Obama speak, he is measured in his use of words. He knew what he was saying. It was a prepared speech. His ego got in front of his head. Maybe he didn’t have a concept of when the Selma march happened, or, more cynically, maybe he knew his audience wouldn’t care that he was lying. He had “been to the mountain top” – if only in his mind. It was the “thought” that counted, even though the man was raised by his white grandparents and abandoned by his Black sperm donor, it didn’t matter.  All he needed to do was code-switch, and he’s Southern black preacher.

If you “Google” the event, leftist “news” sites don’t register it as a lie. It is a “factual discrepancy”.

When he was elected, I hoped that he would at least attempt to bridge gaps. Instead, he burned bridges and, when he left office, race relations were far worse than before he took office. That, in part, was due to his inability to heal the divisions. By example When a cop showed up at Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. house because someone noticed him trying to break into his own house. Gates had forgotten his keys. Gates made it into a racial issue. Obama said, with zero evidence, that the cop “acted stupidly”. In fact, the only reasonable person that porch in 2009, was the cop.

Of middle America, he said that a vast swath of America “clings to their guns and Bibles”.

Obama then said of bad-apple Treyvon Martin that if he had a son he would look like him, implying that Martin was the victim rather than the guy who started the deadly confrontation.

Obama was the “Divider in Chief” for his entire presidency. Read a more complete rebuttal to Obama’s mythical virtuous legacy, by Dr Sean.

Now, after almost a billion dollars spent, his presidential library is almost ready to open. Only Kool-Aid drinking cultists can claim that the building is anything other than an architectural abomination. It resembles a giant gas station trashcan. Construction workers are putting the final touches on the monstrosity – and fittingly, it is a four-story tall quote from… Obama.

The quote is an excerpt from a 2015 speech. That speech was also about the Selma march. In 2015  he didn’t myth weave about his birth, but true to form, he still code-switched.

One cannot read the quote from one side of the building, and, in any event, it appears unreadable from the ground. Because the letters are welded to horizontal slats, letters like “T” read as “I”. And the quote is in all CAPS because, of course it is.

If Obama was to quote himself, and place it on a building 10 stories high, I think the below should have been more apropos.

In any event, the quote is on two separate walls. Divided. Obama – ever the divider in Chief.
