The Dark Underbelly of Modern American Policy

The Dark Underbelly of Modern American Policy: The Biden Administration’s Complicity in Modern-Day Slavery and Child Sex Trafficking

In recent years, under the Biden administration, the United States has witnessed a systemic exacerbation of modern-day slavery and an alarming, massive increase in child sex trafficking, masked under various guises that attempt to sanitize the harsh reality. This article aims to shed light on these grave issues, looking critically at policies and actions taken by the current administration. More than 35,000,000 illegals have been imported into America over the last four years.

The Facade of ‘Indentured Servitude’

The term “indentured servitude” has historically been used to describe a labor system where workers served under contract for a period, often in exchange for passage or training. However, under the Biden administration, there has been an increase in modern indentured servitude, with conditions alarmingly akin to slavery:

  • Unaccompanied Minors at the Border: Since President Biden took office, it is estimated that over 450,000 unaccompanied children have crossed the southern border, according to insights from U.S. Senator John Cornyn. These children, often fleeing dire circumstances, are placed in situations where they end up being sex trafficked. Cornyn also highlighted that many of these children face conditions reminiscent of indentured servitude, working in meatpacking plants, construction, and other labor-intensive jobs to pay off debts to smugglers (Cornyn, 2023).
  • Labor Exploitation: Reports from the Department of Labor and various NGOs have noted an enormous rise in labor exploitation, where workers, including undocumented immigrants, are brought into the U.S. under the pretense of job opportunities but find themselves in exploitative conditions with little legal recourse. This situation has been exacerbated by policies encouraging migration without sufficient safeguards against exploitation (Reuters, 2020).

The Shadow of Child Sex Trafficking

The issue of child sex trafficking has become particularly contentious under Biden’s watch:

  • Policy Changes and Their Consequences: Early in his term, President Biden revoked several Trump-era executive orders, including those related to human trafficking. This move was not because they were ineffective, but as part of a broader policy shift, has incited trafficking networks. (FactCheck.org, 2023).
  • Operational Changes: The cancellation of Operation Talon, aimed at deporting sex offenders illegally residing in the U.S., has undermined efforts to combat sex trafficking. Although this decision was made by ICE officials, it aligns with the broader policy direction under Biden (Newsweek, 2021).
  • Border Policies: The administration’s border policies has facilitated human trafficking. Notably, the cessation of DNA testing for familial claims at the border has made it easier for children to be trafficked under the guise of family reunification (American Thinker, 2023).

Public and Political Reaction

  • Public Awareness: The film “Sound of Freedom,” which addresses child sex trafficking, has seen significant public interest, growing awareness and dissatisfaction with how these issues are being handled or portrayed by the administration.
  • Political Criticism: High-profile political figures like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene have vocally criticized the administration, pointing to alleged financial dealings of the Biden family with countries known for human trafficking, suggesting a deeper level of complicity or negligence (Washington Times, 2023).

Conclusion

The Biden administration’s approach to immigration, labor, and human trafficking policies has not only enabled but incentivized modern forms of slavery and child sex trafficking. By not prioritizing robust enforcement and preventive measures, the administration is directly contributing to these human rights abuses. This critique does not dismiss the complexity of these issues or the broader socio-economic factors at play but calls for a more transparent, rigorous, and compassionate approach to tackling what is some of the darkest aspects of current U.S. policy.
