Sorry for the delay in getting this out, had a minor pooch problem that had me distracted. But I am back!
Gay professor suspended for handing out chocolate bars is reinstated. Professor David Richardson was suspended from Madera Community College and placed on administrative in May 2023 because he was handing out Jeremy’s Chocolate bars at a college open house. The candy bars are labeled “He/Him,” which have nuts and “She/Her,” that have no nuts. You guessed it, someone filed a Title IX complaint against the professor because reasons. Of course, it took the college until December 2023 to complete the investigation and then delayed notifying him that he’d been exonerated until January 6, 2024.
The use of Title IX to go after those the trans community disagrees with, but who are well within the free speech protections of the First Amendment is disturbing, made even more so by the fact that colleges are ignoring Title IX and allowing men identifying as women to compete in women’s sports.
I think we’ve all wanted to do this at some point, at least I have: “Larry David Attacked Elmo on Live TV Because He ‘Was Going on About Mental Health’ and ‘I Couldn’t Take It’: ‘I Throttled Him … I Would Do It Again!’” Though I must admit, I am more perturbed my Kermit than I am Elmo.
The right result for the wrong reasons: “MA cuts college degree requirements for 90% of state jobs.” I believe that society has unwisely required college degrees for many jobs where none are required for success. Opening these jobs up to qualified people who declined to pursue a college degree for whatever reason is a good move. However, Massachusetts used a dumb reason to justify this good move – that it will result in a more diverse workforce. Maybe I’m a dinosaur, but I’ve always believed that a meritocracy is the best way to achieve diversity. The worst way is to reward those who do not want to strive to excel, which by definition requires you to forego rewarding those who do. The result to diversity by gift is to create a society of mediocre people with mediocre achievements.
It has begun, this time in New York: “Dad Loses Custody for Refusing to ‘Trans’ Son.” To make matters worse the child, who was 5 when his mother and therapist determined he was really a female, now wants to stay a male. Leave our kids alone!
Ah yes, when in trouble demand the government bail you out. The Atlantic: “Is American Journalism Headed Toward an ‘Extinction-Level Event’?” The Atlantic gives every reason for the decline of the journalism industry except one – they lost the trust of the American public because they continuously print biased pieces at best and often just good old fashioned hit pieces. The remedy they arrive at? Government subsidies of course.
I have a hard time believing that we can have a free press if the press relies on government handouts.
Ace of Spades has some interesting comments on journalism and the Atlantic article that are worth reading, if you don’t mind some strong not to mention off color language.
Biden and Mayorkas expand their incompetency to the U.S./Canadian border: “The OTHER border crisis: New Jersey-based smuggling gang run by illegal immigrants has helped dozens sneak into US from CANADA for $6,000 a head – amid 500% surge in crossings at northern frontier.” What makes this even more infuriating is that some of those in this gang were caught smuggling people into the U.S. from Canadia and then released!
Additionally, photos in the Daily Mail show at least one gang member armed with a pistol, which is illegal under 18 USC 922(g)(5A) with a maximum prison sentence of 10 years if convicted.
How is this possible? I was assured that all of these people are “vetted” by the feds before being released, and that they are all here to seek a better life…
“Shush! L.A. Times Editor Asks “Departees” Not to Criticize California on Their Way Out.” Maybe I am just a cynic, but for some reason I do not think this plea will he granted…
How do you spend $250,000 to improve a failing school district? Well, if it’s a Bay area California elementary school district “where just 4% of students are proficient in math and 12% in English” you of course spend it on a “Woke Kindergarten’ program…” Yep that should help the kids to learn math and English…
If we had more teachers like this man, we would not have failing schools. The video at the link is 4.5 minutes long and worth listening to every second.
Judicial Watch has upped the ante in the J6 scandal and charged the FBI “with Jan. 6 ‘cover-up’ in Ashli Babbitt shooting case.” Judicial watch combines educational activities with litigation in an attempt to keep government from stepping outside the boundary of the Constitution. They have had several successes in this endeavor.
How is this even possible? During the Martin Luther King Jr. assembly at Shorecrest High School in Washington the school held a “candlelight vigil for Fidel Castro.” It was explained that Castro was a “martyr” who fought for civil rights. Castro was a ruthless dictator who riveled the worst dictators of the 20th century. He spent his life stomping out even the most basic civil rights in Cuba. How could any school allow any school function, much less one honoring MLK, to spread such gross lies?
We need more tar and feathers.

Good read. The journalism decline is predictable and not surprising. Everything published is unreadable, IMO. My beef is when professional writing has no organization, editing for sentence structure, and vocabulary because the writer has not fully embraced the ethics of reporting all sides and views equally. There seems to be not even a rough draft for the development of the story. Write it in a couple of minutes and publish. My happiness about the demise of journalism is that I had no idea there are tens of millions of readers that are rejecting journalism as I have! It is not uncommon for a person to automatically assume they are the minority especially when that person is not a squeaky wheel. The Ace of Spades thread gives me hope that the silent majority is far larger than I realized.
The teacher clip is enjoyable simply because the teacher is “normal.” He is not androgynously dressed or dressed like a girl, he is not wearing weird piercings, he is not exhibiting weird tattoos, or any tattoos, his speech is coherent.
May the silent majority rise up on Election Day and save us!

I think the real journalism has shifted to individuals and small groups writing on websites and substack. Andy Ngo comes to mind as one who writes extensively on Antifa and is quiet the expert on that group. Matt Taibbi and Walter Kim are pretty good too. Bari Weiss is another. I am not sure how the journalism profession is going to shake out over the next few years, but I do believe it is going to change dramatically.
